Kalid & Sannara (Fairmont Banff Springs)

Kalid and Sannara’s morning wedding at the Fairmont Banff Springs was the kind of day that feels quietly unforgettable. Set against the iconic mountain backdrop, the celebration began in soft morning light, allowing the natural beauty of Banff to set the tone from the very start. There was an ease to the day — unhurried, intentional, and filled with moments that felt deeply personal.

Choosing a morning ceremony created a unique rhythm for the celebration, one that leaned into calm elegance rather than tradition. From the first moments of the day to the sweeping views surrounding the ceremony space, every detail felt thoughtfully aligned with the setting. The result was a wedding that felt timeless, elevated, and effortlessly romantic — a perfect reflection of Kalid and Sannara and the way they chose to begin this next chapter together.

A Ceremony Designed to Let the Landscape Lead

Some venues ask for layers of décor. Others ask for restraint. This ceremony was a perfect example of letting the setting take the lead while design quietly elevated every detail.

Set against sweeping mountain views, the ceremony space was intentionally designed with a clean, timeless foundation that allowed the natural surroundings to remain the focal point. Crisp white ceremony chairs lined a straight, structured aisle, creating a sense of symmetry and calm that immediately drew the eye toward the ceremony arch — and beyond it, to the mountains themselves.

The aisle design was one of our favorite elements. Rather than overpowering the space, we opted for low, lush floral arrangements running the full length of the aisle. Soft pastel blooms mixed with airy greenery created an organic, garden-inspired feel while keeping sightlines completely open. This choice added texture and romance at ground level without competing with the expansive views.

Carrying the Design Into the Reception

The reception design was a natural continuation of the ceremony aesthetic — elevated, intentional, and deeply connected to the surrounding landscape. Rather than reinventing the look, the goal was to translate the softness and romance of the ceremony into a space designed for celebration.

Long tables were styled to encourage a communal, welcoming atmosphere, grounded by crisp linens that echoed the clean palette of the ceremony chairs and aisle. Tablescapes were kept refined yet organic, with low floral arrangements and flowing greenery that added movement without obstructing conversation. The florals mirrored the ceremony design, creating a cohesive visual story from start to finish.

A favorite design moment of the reception was the thoughtful repurposing of ceremony florals into a flower bar for guests. After the ceremony, select blooms were refreshed and styled into an interactive floral experience, allowing guests to create their own small arrangements to enjoy throughout the evening or take home as a keepsake. Not only did this add a meaningful, hands-on element to the reception design, it also reflected a sustainable approach to floral planning — extending the life of the blooms while maximizing their impact. The flower bar became both a design feature and a guest experience, blending beauty, intention, and celebration in a way that felt effortlessly aligned with the day as a whole.
