Carolyne & Drew (The Malcolm Hotel Canmore)

Some wedding weekends feel like more than just a celebration. They feel like a full experience from start to finish. Carolyne and Drew’s May wedding in Canmore was exactly that.

As a full planning couple, we had the absolute joy of walking alongside them every step of the way. From early design conversations to vendor meetings to refining the tiniest details, this weekend was thoughtfully built piece by piece. By the time it arrived, it felt seamless, intentional, and completely reflective of who they are.

The celebrations began two days before the wedding with an intimate rehearsal dinner at the groom’s family home in Canmore. Nestled in the mountains, it was warm, relaxed, and personal. Close family gathered, stories were shared, and it set the tone for a weekend rooted in connection.

The following evening, guests were welcomed in style at Bridgette Bar. The welcome party felt vibrant and elevated, giving everyone a chance to mingle before the big day. There is something so special about turning a wedding into a full weekend experience, and Carolyne and Drew truly embraced that. By the time the ceremony arrived, their guests already felt like one big community.

Wedding day dawned with the most gorgeous mountain backdrop. Their outdoor ceremony at Quarry Lake in Canmore was breathtaking. Crisp mountain air, soft May sunshine, and that iconic Rockies view created the most romantic setting. Carolyne looked stunning, and the emotion as she walked down the aisle against the mountains was unforgettable.

From there, guests made their way to The Malcolm Hotel for cocktail hour and the reception. The design carried a refined, black tie inspired feel with a fresh spring twist. We leaned into a clean and elevated aesthetic, allowing the florals to be the statement. Lush arrangements brought in soft spring color and movement, creating contrast against the more classic, tailored elements of the room. The balance of structured elegance and organic blooms felt sophisticated yet alive.

Inside the reception space, the atmosphere was timeless. Candlelight, layered textures, and thoughtful details gave the evening depth and warmth. Every element was curated to feel cohesive from ceremony to reception. Seeing the room come together after months of planning is always a moment we cherish, but this one felt especially rewarding.

As the evening unfolded, the energy shifted from refined dinner party to full celebration. The dance floor filled quickly and stayed full. Laughter echoed, glasses clinked, and the mountains outside seemed to frame the entire celebration. It was joyful, elegant, and so full of love.

The weekend wrapped up with a farewell brunch at The Malcolm the next morning. Guests gathered one last time to relive the highlights, share hugs, and slowly say their goodbyes. Ending with brunch gave the entire celebration a soft landing and one more intentional moment together.

Carolyne and Drew’s wedding weekend was the perfect blend of sophistication and heart. From a family home rehearsal dinner to a vibrant welcome party, a mountain ceremony, and a black tie inspired reception, every piece flowed beautifully into the next.

Being part of their full planning journey and watching it all unfold in the mountains was truly an honor. It was a weekend to remember in every sense of the word.
