Stephanie & Justin (The Malcolm Hotel)

Imagine the magic of a July wedding set against the majestic backdrop of towering mountains. The Malcolm Hotel in Canmore became the perfect venue for Stephanie and Justin as they embarked on their journey of a lifetime together. With the crisp mountain air, and the warm summer sun casting a golden glow, their special day was nothing short of extraordinary. Whether you're dreaming of your own mountaintop nuptials or just love a beautiful love story, this blog is sure to inspire and delight.

Tell us your engagement story!

We were going on a trip to California with our friends around our 10 year dating anniversary. Justin successfully transported the engagement ring into Disneyland without tipping Steph off. Justin planned our first event for the day to be taking photos in front of the castle, where he got on one knee and proposed!

When it came to planning your wedding, what was most important to you?

Our focus was on enjoying the process of planning the wedding and to have as much planned we could planned ahead of time so that we could just enjoy the day. Amanda made this possible for us as she had many ideas, provided feedback on our thoughts, and ensured we were stress-free the whole day.

What made you choose Day of Diva?

To be honest, we had inquired with another wedding planner, but they were booked and recommended Day of Diva since Amanda had worked with them before. We clicked with Amanda right away and were blown away by her organization and expertise.

If you could provide a tip to another couple planning their wedding, what would it be?

Get a wedding planner, it's the best money you will spend on a wedding (specifically Day of Diva)!

When it came to your venue selection, why did you choose to get married there?

We chose The Malcolm Hotel as our venue because the event space really fit the modern aesthetic we were going for - the large windows in the banquet hall, wooden beams on the ceiling, and simple but modern light fixtures. We also had a pretty large wedding with 230 guests so The Malcolm was fortunately able to accommodate our guest count. In addition, we have quite a few dietary restrictions amongst our guests and The Malcolm worked with us to make modifications where they were needed.

What a beautiful wedding! I love that they did a tea ceremony beforehand and the ceremony in front of the windows is absolutely stunning! <3
