This August at The Malcolm, we layered warm wood tones, soft neutrals, textured linens, and refined florals to create a design that felt grounded in the Rockies yet effortlessly elevated.

This August at The Malcolm, we layered warm wood tones, soft neutrals, textured linens, and refined florals to create a design that felt grounded in the Rockies yet effortlessly elevated.

Last June at the iconic Fairmont Banff Springs, they chose an early ceremony and brunch celebration that wrapped up around 5pm and honestly… it was perfection.⁠
⁠
Guests were welcomed with mimosas and coffee to kick off the morning ceremony (10/10 vibes ☕️🥂), and from there the day unfolded with beautiful florals, customized design details, and so much fun.⁠
⁠
This design was rooted in intention and what mattered most to them. They wanted something meaningful, relaxed, and family focused. The kids station was created especially for their son and the other little guests so everyone had something fun to do (custom colouring books included 🖍️).⁠
⁠
From a floral bar where guests could take blooms home from their ceremony arch, to custom candy favors (because this couple loves candy 🍬), plus a photo booth so everyone could capture memories… every detail reflected who they are.⁠

No full day marathon. Just thoughtful moments, joyful touches, and a celebration that truly felt like them.⁠
⁠

Grounded installs, meadow style florals, or large asymmetrical arches can be stunning but may not translate cleanly to a head table or sweetheart table without extra stems, mechanics, or time. It’s always worth chatting with your florist about what realistically can move and what’s best designed as a ceremony only moment.⁠
⁠
• Install time matters Large installs take time. Sometimes a lot of it. Florals aren’t just “dropped off” they’re built on site. Knowing how long your florist needs and whether they require early access can affect your venue booking window and overall timeline.⁠

• Access and logistics When can vendors get in? Is there elevator access? Long walks from loading zones? Tight ceremony spaces? All of these impact labour, setup timing, and sometimes cost.⁠

• Weather plans Outdoor ceremonies are dreamy but florals can be sensitive to heat, wind, and rain. Backup plans should account for how florals will move or if they even can.⁠

A beautiful outdoor ceremony set against the landscape was paired with a classic white and blue palette that felt timeless and fresh. Flowers by Janie brought their vision together perfectly, letting the florals lead the design and speak for themselves.⁠

Personal details made the day truly theirs, from custom stationery created by the couple to subtle Taylor Swift nods sprinkled throughout for those who noticed.⁠

We might not be on stage, but trust me, it feels like it sometimes. The quick changes, the adrenaline, the long hours, the tears we wipe (sometimes our own), the smiles we help create.

We sew broken straps minutes before bridesmaids walk down the aisle, pin boutonnieres while managing timelines, and quietly take on our couples’ stress so they can float through the day in peace. We do the jobs no one notices, until everything goes perfectly.

It’s not always glamorous, but it’s always worth it. Because when that music starts, and the doors open, and the emotions flood the room... we remember exactly why we do what we do.
