What was your wedding style?

Our wedding was colorful, a little whimsical, and sweet! We wanted to day to feel really fun and happy for all of our guests.

When it came to planning your wedding, what was most important to you?

3 things: The food, how our guests felt, and how we felt! We are big foodies and I have a pet peeve of leaving weddings hungry! For our guests, so many of them traveled and took time off work to be there, that we wanted everyone to feel comfortable, appreciated and happy! And as for our experience, we wanted to be stress-free (huge shoutout to our Day of Diva team for this!!), comfortable in our clothes (as comfortable as you can be in a wedding dress) and unshakeable in our enjoyment of the day (irrespective of weather, etc.).

What was the best part of your wedding day?

The best part of the day was arriving at the venue after our first look and before the ceremony. We were with all our best friends, so excited for the day ahead, and finally saw our wedding vision in real life! There was so much excitement in that moment.

What made you choose Day of Diva?

We inquired with a couple of planning vendors but ultimately chose Day of Diva as Amanda and her team seemed to competent. They respected my individual vision and really wanted to make us feel comfortable and taken care of! I also loved the 'tiered' options in their packages. Since I personally wanted to do a lot of the planning myself, the mid-level range was perfect for me :)

If you could provide a tip to another couple planning their wedding, what would it be?

It would be to execute the day how you want it to be! To pick the colours, music and food to your tasting. Also, to bake in some time for you and your partner to chat and soak in the day together. We did this by leaving for 10 mins after the ceremony to debrief and chat, and then by having a sweetheart table to chat throughout dinner!

Where did you say YES to the dress, and what designer did you wear?

At the Bridal Boutique YYC - shoutout to Sydney! My dress was Essence of Australia and my veil was Made with Love.

Groom/groomsmen attire - where were they purchased/rented from?

My husband's suit was custom made from Indochino - highly recommend, he loved it! Groomsmen rented from Moores.

When it came to your venue selection, why did you choose to get married there?

We choose Valley Ridge as we wanted a Garden-ey feel, and we wanted the entire wedding to be in one area. We loved the food selection and loved the 'blank canvas' that the venue offered. We were able to make a lot of creative decisions on our own!
